Q: What age can my child start learning karate?
A: Your child can start learning karate from the age of 4. We have dedicated sessions to young members (Tigers & Jido) which teach children the basics of karate, core values and discipline.
Q: Do i have to join Chikara after my first free session?
A: There is no obligation to join Chikara after your first session, we want everyone to try karate to make that decision for themselves.
Q: How much is it to train at Chikara karate?
A: Joining fees are £30 per month which includes training all week, insurance and licence fees. Or you can pay per session you attend.
Q: How log will it take to obtain my black belt?
A: With regular training of 2-3 nights per week it could take you between 5-7 years to obtain your black belt. However, it is hard to say as it does depend on the individual. There is no rush to achieve this, obtaining your black belt is just the first step in a much longer journey.

Q: I do not feel physically fit, can i do karate?
A: Of course, anyone of any age or ability can do karate! We will push you out of your comfort zone. However, this will only increase your level of fitness.
Q: What are the benefits of karate?
A: Karate has many benefits. It involves stretching, core strength work outs, punching, kicking and conditioning.
